BahaMen is a band that is based in The Bahamea. From 1977 to 1992 the original name of the band, led by Isaiah Taylor, was "High Voltage". After getting a record deal with Big Beat Atlantic the name was changed due to several other groups within the United States and Canada carrying the same name. After consultation with management, the group decided on a name that depicted men from The Bahamas - BahaMen. Their music is a unique sound that is infused with the national music called Junkanoo.
